Re: khan to renegotiate stadium deals
It is clear that significant changes will be needed to E20 if its financial sustainability is to be improved. Many
of the options available to E20 were explored in a Board presentation on 6 October 2016, certain of which are
detailed below:

 Not transitioning the East Stand between football and athletics events
 Not holding annual athletics events
 Increasing secondary revenue streams through means such as MLB and cricket
 Re-tendering for the Stadium operator
 Selling the Stadium
 Shutting the Stadium

https://www.london.gov.uk/press-releases/mayoral/stadium-forecast-to-lose-24-million-in-2017-18

The review says the investment by the public purse will not only never be recovered but has forecast that unless further action is taken, the stadium will continue to lose up to around £20m every year. The former Mayor tied the taxpayer into binding contracts with West Ham United and UK Athletics, severely limiting the present Mayor’s options.

haha

Re: khan to renegotiate stadium deals
This is good. Of course we're not going to suddenly pay 10 times as much, but paying a bit more should get us permission to do a lot of the small things at least, that have been bugging us, as we haven't been allowed.

Forcing the stadium operators to employ Upton Park stewards as head stewards for example. Scarves hats and badges from the old independant traders around the concourse. Proper burger vans. Maybe even a place for Nathan's to set up, if possible. I know they wanted to, but were priced out.

Safe standing. That's the big one. Even if we're no nearer, we would be allowed to pack more into the ends behind the goals and in the corners if this was set up. I know we sometimes pack in there anyway, but this way it would be our right, rather than us taking liberties.

I'm watching this space with interest.

Fuck, what a mess for a stadium that is not even fit for football. Sell it to us so we can modernise.

Re: khan to renegotiate stadium deals
RE they'd have to either build us a new ground or pay 100's of million in compo if they shut it down
